About FPP |
Welcome to Flying Pixie Promotions & Music Management. I was thrust into the music industry quite by accident while assisting some friends of mine to gain a gig North of the Border! Further gigs ensued, along with positive feedback and my enthusiasm for taking things further grew.
The content of the work involves booking and promoting gigs, press and media (radio etc), working with agencies and all the nitty gritty work which leaves the band or artist free to do what they do best - write and perform their music to the world. FPP is the administration behind the talent I guess...
I have also been involved with the national competition Live & Unsigned / Open Mic (see links page) since early 2009.
In February 2011, a new partner arrived at FPP to share the increasing workload in the shape of Rick Allardice (aka The Djay Buddha). Rick is a loyal and welcome addition to this orgnisation and brings with him a host of skills to further enhance what we do.
FPP will endeavour to help where possible with bands/artistes not on the roster and if we are not in a position to fulfill a job, we will be honest and let you know, but will always reply to enquiries. |

CAL |
Cal (Michael Callaghan) started playing the guitar and singing in the early 1990s as a hobby and something to do whilst recovering from an industrial accident. Once he had gained the ability to play three chords clearly he started writing his own songs, then when he had mastered another chord he would add this to the others and try writing another song. After the first year or so his interest had grown and so he decided to further develop his musical talents by attending Perth college. He was a student there for three years where attained an HND in "Rock Music Performance", won the Outstanding Adult Learner Award in 1993 and won the Sound Control Music Trophy 1993-1994. After a year of working in a factory Cal returned to further education where he attainted Edinburgh Jewel and Esk Valley College in 1996-1997 and achieved his Advanced Diploma in Film and Television Music.

Brand New Collection |

Hello FPP Friends and Family, i present a new Celtic and Roots radio show every Tuesday 8pm (Uk time) from Generate Radio in the Scottish Borders. The show will initially be an hour long but we are hoping once I have settled in to take this up to 2 hours and maybe a second day. One thing we can promise is music, mayhem and madness! This is a new venture for me and I am very excited about being able to promote the music I love through another medium.
I will be delighted to receive any contributions of music, ideas, prizes for competitions and any input you feel you may have to offer. I hope you will join me each Tuesday evening and help spread the word that Music is Inspiration and Inspiration is Life... |
